This mission consists of equipping the school with bike racks, in order to encourage active transport, and bins to allow the establishment in collecting organic materials destined for municipal composting. Victoriaville is a pioneer in Quebec for organic and recycled materials. The realization of this ATTITUDE^TM mission represents the necessary push for the school to participate in this collection and also, to minimize the volume of non valorized waste. This initiative possesses an important dimension of education relative to the environment and will bring the students to positively influence the people around them in adopting sustanaible behaviors. This event is addressed to all citizens wanting to contribute to the well being of the environment. Its objective is to make visitors aware of today’s environmental challenges, while proposing solutions and tools for people to have a better understanding and to encourage behavioral changes. Melissa and Diana, from the ATTITUDE team, will be present to discuss consuming responsibly to therefore make the visitors aware of the positive impacts when using eco-friendly products. This day will be held June 7th 2008 at the community center of the municipal town hall of Harrington (2811, route 327, Lost-River, Qc) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. LAMAC is a non-profit organization who has a mission of revitalising and protecting the environment of Lake MacDonald. The members are particularly interested in the health of their lake and the desire to closely follow up with the quality of their water. Lake day is a good way of reuniting the local population. The school St-Louis-de-Gonzague in old Quebec welcomes hearing-impaired students that, via their teacher, wished to make their front schoolyard green. Jérôme Thibeault (school teacher), Maud Filion (Earth Day) and Hans Drouin (ATTITUDE(TM) products) have united their efforts with those of the students of the school to transform a grey urban space into a green urban space. To do this, they are organizing a forum focusing on shorelines at the Bonne Aventure Center of Bonaventure this Saturday, May 10th. Gaspesie and the Magdalen Islands have been recognized for their natural riches, amongst other things, the purity of their waters. To give the necessary tools to better understand the stakes and thus, to protect their natural environments, the forum will concentrate on the importance of shorelines, the rules associated and the solutions to problems caused by man.
